I just got into beta with through IGN membership. Only been playing about 15 mins, but seems like it should be pretty fun. Right now I am pretty much just running around getting blown up. LOL

yeah I've been diggin the Hunchback also. I have to figure out how to group the weapons the way I want, full fire is like instant overheat on most of the mechs

dont be afraid to drop a weapon and pickup more heatsinks. also, split your weapon groups so you can cycle them faster and keep your heat more manageable. be sure to also setup an alpha-strike group for that kill shot punch when you need it!

Neziah, the way u group ur weapon is to navigate with arrow keys and pressing right CTRL will either activate the active number (pressing the up down arrow key will move ur cross-bar vertically and pressing left right arrow key will move your cross-bar horizontally)

so if u want certain weapons to be in group 1 then u make sure the weapons are activated in blue.

Also if u want certain weapon to be active in group 1, 2 or 4 (multiple highlight) u can do it too.

Cool thanks! I need to stop playing and figure out how to do things. LOL I think I must of moved that once because I was messing around and suddenly nothing would shoot. >< Too bad you can't ram each other. That would make it a little more fun to play the heavies. So wish they had a Hatchet man!

Still mainly playing the Hunchback. It is really fun to run around and pound AC20s into the back of people, yet still have enough armor to get survive for a while. I want to try and small laser version and see how that goes.

glad i can help XD... btw i learned the hard way that weapons attachment on mechs are dependent on hardpoints. Certain hardpoints like Torso can take up large weapons (AC, Large Laser etc) where as the arms cannot.

So you have to plan what u wanted for your damage output before u invest in it as each modification and ammo needs credit from game.

if you buy the elite packs with mech, that mech can double your credit and xp earn per round! this help a lot as remember u r not only upgrading ur mech, you have to upgrade ur pilot skill too!

some pilot skill are awesome like making ur mech run cooler, boost speed a little faster, prevent from overheat shutdown just a little longer... this improvements over pilot skills will help u save some credits in buying extra heatsinks!

Also, your armor has an option to reduce its effective armor points so that u can free some tonnage to get extra heatsink or ammo if u think u really need it. As said before, experiment and planning is definately required.

Since this is still beta, i think the credits that u earn will get wiped a few time over the beta stage XD but playing more on the winning side will help u more on XP and credit :)

Ran into a bunch of hacks or exploiters today. They were capturing our base about 15 seconds in and somehow go to our base in force before our team had even walked more than 50 yards out of the base. If this is going to be the norm, so not buying a founders pack. lol

So far that has only happened once, so maybe it was a fluke. That team was also doing the "Check out the 3d person view, its really cool, just hit ALt-f4" deal....>< So of course 3 people from my team dropped, then before we really even got out of our base they were there. All the while the "Base under attack" alarm was going off since before the game even started, So really odd.

I've been messing around with the Hunchy and the Dragon. Sorta fun, but they sure get pounded fast. They must not be balancing tonnage yet in the matches.

I also have tried running an energy weapon Cat ( both PPC and ERLargeLaser versions) and I am starting to think it is not the way to go. Very few maps make running the long range direct fire weapons that useful, and they end up being a pita in close quarters with a faster mech attacking you. I wish I would of went with a missile boat version now. LOL The ERLL version is nice in that caustic map if you can stand off and pound people, but that does not seem to happen often.

It coulda been just a couple of lights that hauled ass right to your base, one of my buddies runs a jenner that does like 139kph... doesnt take long to scoot across the whole map while running at that clip. I have a hunchy with an xl300 engine that does 97.9kph and i can flat book it across the map to cover an enemy light that is trying to cap, with ease. honestly i have seen zero hacks or cheats in this game so far, and i am very experienced with mecha games. doesnt mean it wont happen, just saying i havent seen any yet.

naw was not just a couple lights. It was pretty much their entire team, dragons, awesome Cat. But it was the only time I've seen it happen. I'm serious, by the time I went from the middle of the base on Caustic, to just starting up the hill they came over the hill in a pack. No way. My whole team was "WTF" LOL

Very glad to hear it is not the norm!

I started playing a Jenner and it is so much fun. Sure you get smeared like a pancake at a weightwaters breakfast once in a while, but the rest of the time it is fun playing cat and mouse with the big mechs.
